How can I get started?
Pono is a very individual system, so while of course we could fully automate the sign-up process using our own Pono website we prefer a more personal approach 😊 Please contact us if you're ready to get started, we can schedule a quick video chat (or just email if you prefer) and then get your new Pono website up and running right away. Of course, please contact us too with any questions.
What does the extra support during the first month include?
Pono is the most powerful and versatile tool that you can possibly get to transform your workflow and help run your entire online business. Of course, with this power and versatility come countless options for configuring and setting things up.
We provide a detailed online support system consisting of demo videos showing every part of Pono, with detailed instructions for how you can set everything up. There are lots of quick explanations built directly into the Pono admin too, to give you a quick tip on what many of the options mean and how things work.
But we want you to get the absolute most out of your new website, so when you start we'll get going with a video call to chat and talk about what you want to set up, as well as often a few quick questions via email too. We'll then make some recommendations as to the best way to get everything set up, and we'll point you in the right direction to exactly which parts of the system you need to look at and which demo videos you need to watch. The idea here is that you are setting things up yourself — because in doing so you are learning how to use the system and gaining full control over everything so that you can manage your entire website yourself. But we're here for you, you can email any time that you have questions and if you find that you are getting stuck then we'll do a second video call and go through anything that you need help with together.
For most small businesses, unless you have a very complex workflow or a large number of coaches and clients, this support during the first month is more than enough to get you perfectly set up. And after that we're still always here for you, you can email any time if you have specific questions.
In addition to this we do also offer assisted setup and custom development options, please contact us if you have questions about this or any other support and setup related questions.
What if I need more support or custom features and functionality?
For the majority of businesses our support during the initial setup phase is more than enough to help you get everything perfectly set up, and the existing features and functionality already have everything that you could ever dream of. But Pono is also powering some very complex websites with large numbers of clients and staff members, an intricate setup and workflow, and enormous behind-the-scenes functionality.
We offer various levels of assisted setup, where we work closely together to get your website set up absolutely perfectly with powerful workflows.
And we can extend the Pono system with whatever custom and individual features your business may need.

Can I have an individual website design?
You can have Pono running the backend portal and the members-only areas of your website, and keep your existing frontend website. So everything would be exactly as you have it now, you would just have a button somewhere on your website that lets your clients log in to the Pono client portal.
Or you can use Pono to power your entire website.
The capability to power your entire website is already built in. Our website, that you're looking at right now, is of course 100% powered by Pono. It's easy for you to add in new pages with a beautiful, modern, and clean design, but you might want a totally individual design. This could be the design of your existing website or your brand that you'd like us to replicate so that your new Pono website fits in perfectly with what you already have, or it could be a totally new design. We don't offer design services ourself, but we're able to build your Pono website with any design that you provide us.

How does the web hosting work?
Your Pono monthly subscription includes hosting on our web server. You can provide whatever domain you would like to use, like example.com, and we will connect that so that Pono can run on your own domain. If you're keeping your existing website then Pono can run in a subdomain such as portal.example.com, or clients.example.com (or whatever you would like to call it). If you don't have a domain then we can provide one like example.ponocms.com.
Your domain is hosted on our lightning fast, secure server. Our server is powered by Linode, a world leader in high-end secure web hosting, with almost a million websites. For file storage we use Amazon S3.
If you have a lot of clients, your website has heavy traffic, or you're working with a lot with large files — for example, you are communicating with your clients via video, or asking them to upload large files to your site with their check-ins — then we may ask you to open your own hosting and/or file storage accounts. Of course you are always welcome to provide your own storage provider (such as your own Amazon S3 account) if you would simply prefer all of your data to be on your own storage account.

What are the future updates?
Pono is in very active development, we're listening to feedback from all Pono website owners and are constantly improving and evolving the Pono system and adding in cool new features and functionality. Over the last few years we have released on average ten major upgrades with significant new features each year as well as dozens of smaller updates. In 2022 we released a totally new Pono system, built from scratch with countless new features and greatly improved functionality.
With your Pono monthly subscription you automatically receive all updates as soon as they are available.

Can I cancel my subscription any time?
Yes of course, you can cancel all ongoing services at any time.
We keep it fair and simple so the cancellation notice is just 48 hours and takes effect at the end of the billing period. For example, if you have a service that renews on the 30th of each month and you were to cancel it on June 27th then the cancellation would take effect on June 30th; if you were to cancel it on June 28th then the cancellation would take effect on July 30th.
